FetalPlus II
In response to the demand of the marketplace for lower cost FBS alternatives, we are pleased to announce that we have successfully developed two new products which support and enhance growth of a variety of cells versus standard Fetal Bovine Serum. We call these products FetalPlus I and FetalPlus II.
In support of our claim, a study was performed by an independent reference lab. A spectrophotometric method evaluating formazine dye uptake was utilized to determine differences in cell propagation of Vero Monkey Kidney Cells. Increased absorbance at 450nm indicates higher cell propagation.
Several replications were evaluated after three and seven days of growth. The study shows that FetalPlus propagated cells at least as good as, and in most cases better than the reference standard FBS lot.
In addition, microscopic examination after seven days clearly showed cells supplemented with FetalPlus were more refractile and confluent with less rounding, appearing healthier than cells fed with the reference standard FBS.
